Cheeze Wizards

Cheeze Wizards is a social, crypto-native experiment where players summon Wizards to compete in a global tournament for the title — and prize — of Big Cheeze. Players use ether to summon Wizards to compete in a series of duels that make up the Cheeze Wizard Tournament. Every Wizard is a cryptocollectible, or non-fungible token (NFT) - they’re immortal, magical, and capable of world-changing feats.

A Scalable Animation System for 40k+ Wizards

I led production on a custom animation pipeline that generated tens of thousands of unique wizard characters for this web-based game. Each wizard was assembled from a modular system of assets, with over 40,000 possible combinations. To handle this at scale, I worked with a small team to develop a custom After Effects extension that automated exports to Lottie (animated SVG), keeping files lightweight and browser-ready.

I designed and animated all core character actions, which included attacks, idles, wins, and losses, and built the master rigs that powered the system. A dynamic colour-tagging solution allowed real-time recolouring in-game, enabling massive visual variety without bloating asset sizes.
Marketing & Product Animations
In addition, I produced all marketing, social, and in-product animations to support the launch and ongoing engagement. This included motion assets for trailers, promo clips, UI interactions, and social media campaigns, ensuring visual consistency and a cohesive animated language across every touchpoint.
